Cassani Abrasive Segment for Grinding and Polishing Marble Floors

Cassani-type abrasive segments are used for restoring, grinding, and polishing both existing and newly installed floors. They are applied in a precise grit sequence: starting with coarse grits for roughing and levelling uneven surfaces, and progressively moving to finer grits that prepare the floor for final polishing (carried out using polishing powders). Thanks to their characteristic sector shape, these abrasives are specifically designed to fit onto the plate holders of professional floor grinding machines (e.g. Achilli, Mondialmec, and similar brands). They are ideal for use on marble, natural stone, travertine, terrazzo, and Venetian terrazzo surfaces.

Technical and Operational Features

Grit Size and Abrasive Matrix:

• Available in a wide range of grit sizes with either magnesia bond formulations (traditional, offering high stock removal capacity) or synthetic bond formulations (for a more uniform, refined finish).

Grit Sequence and Range:

• Roughing and Levelling: Grits 00 – 0 – 1 – 30

• Grinding: Grits 60 – 120 – 220

• Pre-polishing: Grits 2/3 – 3/4

• Semi-gloss: Grits 600 – 800 – 1000 – 1200

• Final Gloss Finish: Grit 5 / Extra (preparatory or alternative to using polishing powders)

Mechanical Yield and Durability:

The balanced mixture of silicon carbide and binding agent ensures even segment wear, preventing abnormal scratching on the material. They offer high wear resistance and stable performance even on high-hardness marble or severely degraded surfaces.

The geometry of the Cassani segment ensures quick installation and optimal mechanical grip on the abrasive plate holders of leading professional floor sanders, ensuring uniform working pressure in both residential and industrial environments.
