Cea Abrasivi Bullnose Abrasives
CEA Abrasivi Bullnose Wheels: Abrasives for Grinding and Polishing Bullnose Edges
CEA Abrasivi bullnose grinding wheels (also known as levitoro or bullnose wheels) are specifically designed for use on edge polishing machines during shaping, grinding, and polishing operations on full bullnose and half bullnose edges across marble, granite, natural stone, travertine, and quartz agglomerates. Engineered to meet the requirements of stonemasons and the stone processing industry, these abrasives feature a snail-lock quick-change fitting for simple, fast installation on both single-head and multi-head edge polishers (manual or automatic), ensuring high working stability and an impeccable surface finish.
Technical Features and Benefits
High Material Removal and Quality Finish: formulated with high-efficiency abrasive mixtures to rapidly remove material, precisely shape the edge, and prepare it for the subsequent grinding and mirror-polishing stages.
Available Bond Types:
- Magnesite Bond: ideal for initial roughing and shaping on marble and limestone, ensuring a consistent cutting action and even wear.
- Resin / Synthetic Bond: perfect for intermediate and final polishing stages. They deliver a glossy, long-lasting finish on both profiled and flat edges.
- Diamond Inserts / Diamond Resin Bonds: recommended for high-hardness materials (granite, engineered stone, and quartz) or high-speed processing on automatic machinery.
Compatibility and Geometric Standards: CEA manufactures bullnose abrasives in market-standard diameters (such as 130 mm and 150 mm) with snail-lock or small-hole fittings, making them perfectly adaptable to the backing pads of all major edge polishing machine brands.
Profile Precision: the shaped design of the abrasive maintains a uniform, consistent bullnose radius along the entire length of the slab, eliminating the risk of dips or visual defects.
Applications and Fields of Use
CEA bullnose wheels are the professional choice for manufacturing:
- Kitchen countertops and bathroom vanity tops with full bullnose or half bullnose profiles.
- Stairs, steps, windowsills, and thresholds in marble, stone, and granite.
- Architectural elements, wall copings, and decorative trims for high-end construction.
Recommended Processing Sequence
To achieve a perfect finish and extend tool life:
- Roughing and Shaping: use coarser grits (magnesite or diamond) to define and blend the bullnose radius.
- Intermediate Grinding: move to medium grits (synthetic or resin bond) to remove machining marks and smooth the surface.
- Polishing and Finishing: complete the sequence with fine-grit bullnose wheels—using 5 Extra for marble or the Leviga Toro Lux line for granite—to achieve a deep, high-gloss shine perfectly matched to the slab surface.
