Cea Abrasivi Edge Polisher
CEA Abrasivi Edge Polishing Abrasives
Professional solutions for flat edge grinding and polishing.
CEA Abrasivi edge polishing abrasives are specifically designed for grinding and polishing flat edges and borders of natural and engineered materials. Available both in the classic magnesite formulation and in modern synthetic bond mixtures, these tools are ready to be used on both single-head and automatic multi-head belt edge polishing machines. Their use covers the entire finishing cycle of the straight edge and its chamfers, ensuring a perfect geometric progression from roughing to a mirror polish.
Fields of Application and Materials
The versatility of CEA formulas allows for maximum efficiency when processing a wide range of stone materials:
- Marble, Travertine and Natural Stones: Smooth processing with excellent gloss yield and reduction of surface porosity.
- Granite: High wear resistance and consistent cutting performance even on highly abrasive surfaces.
Technical Features and Advantages
Dual Bond Available:
- Magnesite Abrasive: Classic and consistent cutting power, ideal especially in coarser grits to ensure excellent stock removal and precise edge calibration.
- Sintex Abrasive (Synthetic): Maximum stability, total resistance to moisture during storage, and uniform wear. It is the ideal partner in fine grits to prepare the surface for the final polish.
Process Optimization: Designed to quickly eliminate cutting marks, calibrate the flat edge, and shape chamfers symmetrically.
Universal Compatibility: Available in the standard 130 mm diameter format with a snail lock attachment—among the most popular on the market—to guarantee quick tool changes.
Finish Quality: Allows achieving a high gloss level for a perfect mirror polish.
Recommended Grit Sequence for Flat Edges
To achieve maximum performance and a flawless finish, it is recommended to follow the correct progression based on the material type and the number of spindles on the edge polishing machine:
1. Processing Marble, Travertine and Limestone
- Roughing and Calibration (Magnesite): Grit 60 – Grit 120 – Grit 220 (removal of cutting marks and flatness)
- Finishing and Pre-polishing (Sintex): Grit 320 – Grit 400 – Grit 600 – Grit 800 (pore closure and removal of micro-scratches)
- Final Polishing: 5 Extra (mirror-shine effect for marble)
2. Processing Granite
- Heavy Roughing (Magnesite/Metal Bond): Grit 30 – Grit 60 (rigorous calibration)
- Honing (Magnesite/Sintex): Grit 120 – Grit 220 – Grit 400 (flat edge preparation)
- Semi-Gloss and Polishing (Sintex): Grit 600 – Grit 800 – Grit 1200 / Lux (to bring out the natural color of the granite without hazing)
