Diamond discs for porcelain stoneware

The new and numerous types of porcelain stoneware on the market can be of different compositions of quartz and clay and with variable firing up to 1200 degrees. Glazed porcelain stoneware is also made in large stoneware slabs known as: dekton - lapitec - kerlite - laminam - neolith - Klinker with thicknesses ranging from 3 mm. to 20 mm. The large dimensions of the porcelain stoneware slabs have raised a great question about how to cut porcelain stoneware. The diamond disc industry has had to develop new technologies for the production of diamond discs for cutting porcelain stoneware. New formulas and mixtures of diamond and binder were created, diamond sintering improved so that the diamond disc could meet the needs of the marble worker and installer to make a precise, clean and fast cut on porcelain stoneware. When laying ceramic tiles or large porcelain stoneware slabs, the tiler performs the wet cutting of the tiles using the yard cutter with the diamond disc in diameters of 250 mm. to 400 mm. To dry cut the tiles he uses the angle grinder with the diamond disc for stoneware, while to drill ceramic tiles he uses the diamond drill bits.

The work carried out by the marble worker on maxi porcelain stoneware slabs and on the new ceramic materials requires care and precision both for straight cuts and for the 45-degree cut or jolly cut. The water-jet cutting of the tiles with the diamond disc guarantees a visible cut without chipping as well as the jolly cut of tiles to make the skirting board or used in the production of kitchen tops. The various pieces cut with the diamond disc will then be skilfully assembled, glued with Integra epoxy silicone. Finally, the entire work will be finished with Sorma Fast line diamond flap discs.
