Floor polishing

Floor polishing

The abrasives for polishing marble, granite and grit floors are used with the floor smoothing machine. This process is a mechanical surface abrasion that occurs after the grouting of the floor with the stucco for marble. Sanding and grinding the floor means roughing up, eliminating unevenness and deep scratches on the floor both in the case of a new floor that has just been laid and if it is a floor to be recovered that has been worn over time. To polish a marble or granite floor, abrasives are used in sequence of abrasive grits, starting with a coarser abrasive grit and then gradually moving on to the fine abrasive grits, so the floor is fine sanded, ready to be polished to a mirror that will remain shining over the years with the advantage of easy cleaning. For the daily maintenance of the marble floor we recommend the use of neutral detergents so as not to attack the marble and to apply the professional marble wax bellinzonitenax .... To polish marble, stone and Palladian floors, magnesite and silicon carbide abrasive wheels are used in various shapes: cassani segment, cassani commas, cubolotti or screw rollers. A new method is diamond polishing with resinoid segments, such as cassani, excellent for polishing marble, granite and porcelain stoneware floors, practical in restoration work during the renovation of apartments and for the transport of less heavy and bulky abrasives, above all they reduce the sludge to be disposed of. The resinoid diamond segments have the advantage of having very fine abrasive grains therefore the degree of natural polish obtained is higher than the traditional abrasive, this is diamond polishing. The roughing of the floors is carried out with the metal diamond segments available for each type of material such as: Marble, granite, stoneware, concrete, terracotta, industrial concrete. To polish the granite floor we use the magnesite rollers first to sand and then lead polishing with the gray potè. To restore the gloss to an opaque floor we can use a simple single brush, less invasive intervention which, in combination with the new generation felts such as the bellinzoni fibralux, allows us to polish floors in Palladiana, grit, terrazzo and marble.
